Voters pass 2 of 3 school bonds

Voters in two of three southeast Texas communities passed school bond measures.

Little Cypress - Mauriceville Independent School District posed the largest measure to their voters and won approval. They will now have $56 million to improve all six of the schools in their district. It will include major reconstruction to all entrances making them more secure.

Voters in the Kirbyville Independent School District also passed their $19.8 million bond. The measure will pay for roofs on all campuses as well as parking and new vocational classrooms.

But voters in the Silsbee Independent School district defeated their bond. The $29.5 million proposal would have rebuilt two elementary schools.
