BEAUMONT -

Beaumont police have made an arrest in last month's murder of a Bridge City man.

Police say Nicholas Rosen, 22, of Bridge City, was shot in the head in the 1000 block of Gage Street on April 4.  Investigators say he was a passenger in a car driven to that address to buy drugs.

Rosen died two weeks later in the hospital.

Police Wednesday evening arrested Derek Robinson, 23, of Beaumont, for the murder.  They made the arrest at a Shell station located at Tram Road and Eastex Freeway in North Beaumont.

Robinson had nothing to say to reporters as police escorted him out of the Beaumont police station shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday

The day of the shooting, officers stopped a sedan on Interstate 10 just after 2 p.m.  Inside the car were four people including Nicholas Rosen who had a gunshot wound to the head.  An officer escorted the vehicle to Christus Hospital Saint Elizabeth.  Rosen was in critical condition.

Police found out from the people who were in the car with Rosen that the shooting happened in the 10000 block of Gage Street.  Police surrounded the area and swept it with K-9 units. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office searched from the sky with a chopper.

Beaumont Police questioned two men the day of the shooting.  One of the men was arrested on unrelated warrants.  Police said they had a person of interest, but did not identify him that day.

The investigation continued until Robinson's arrest Wednesday evening.  He has been taken to the Jefferson County Jail. His bond has been set at $1 million
