Photo of bracelet released as investigators seek identity of man whose body was found in river

A spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff's Office says investigators are asking for the public's help in finding the identity of a man whose body was found in the Neches River Sunday.

Sgt. Chad Hogan says on Sunday May 5, 2013 at 6 p.m. dispatchers received a call about a body in the Neches River near the Purple Heart Bridge. Both Orange County Sheriff's Office and officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded.

Orange County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Judge Dunn ordered an autopsy.

The body was taken to the Jefferson County Forensic Medical Facility where an autopsy was performed. According to Dr. Wayne, Forensic Pathologist the cause and manner of death was not able to be determined at the time of the autopsy due to the decomposed condition of the victim. Dr. Wayne said that toxicology and other further testing is going to be done to try to determine cause and manner and also to try and determine the identity of the deceased.

Dr. Wayne said that the victim is a white male but has not been able to determine possible age.

The victim was possibly wearing a white rubber bracelet with the following writing on the bracelet "I'm sexy and I know it! LMFAO" The victim was also wearing a pair of white Adidas tennis shoes size 12.

Sgt. Hogan said anyone with information on the victim or who recognizes the bracelet in the photograph should call the Orange County Sheriff's Office at 409-883-2612.
