Late Thursday evening, Kirbyville Police, Jasper County Sheriff Deputies, Jasper Police Swat Team, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and Local Parks and WildLife Officers were on the scene of a stand off at a residence in the area of FM 82 in Kirbyville.

Authorities said a resident in the area made threats against local law enforcement. A Kirbyville police officer referred to the threats as "Terroristic".

A Sheriff's Office spokesperson said the public was not in danger.

Friday morning a Sheriff's Office spokesperson told 12News the standoff had been 'called off.'  The spokesperson promised more information would be released later in the day.
