UPDATE: Police find driver hours after accident in Beaumont
Beaumont police have found a man missing since an accident that happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say a car flipped over and smashed into a fence along Labelle Road near Frint Road. When officers arrived they found a small amount of blood at the scene, but could not find the driver.
Police identified the man who owns the car as Taylor Fannin, 21, and began searching for him.
Fannin's father said Taylor had been frog fishing, and no one had heard from him since before the car was found.
Officers checked with officials at local hospitals, but they all said they did not treat Fannin.
Officers used blood hounds and a helicopter to search the area.
Shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday Fannin called his father from a business located at Walden Road and Interstate 10. Fannin said he tried to walk home after the accident and got tired and fell asleep a good distance from the accident site.
A police spokesperson said Fannin is in good condition.
