Three people were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries following a rollover accident in Beaumont Wednesday morning.
A police spokesperson on the scene told 12News the accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on Fannett Road near Sarah Street. When officers arrived one of the cars was on fire and a person was trapped in the other vehicle.
The spokesperson said a silver Buick Park Avenue was heading south on Fannett Road and a black Ford Edge Crossover was heading north. A witness told police the driver of the Buick ran a red light and the two vehicles collided.
The impact made the Edge Crossover spin and it clipped a utility electrical box which caused the Edge to flip over.
The driver of the Ford Edge had to be cut out of the vehicle. Two people from the other car were able to get out of the burning car before firefighters arrived to put out the flames.
All three people involved in the accident were taken to Baptist Hospital in Beaumont with what an officer described as non life-threatening injuries.
