Baytown man charged with Jefferson County murder

Posted: Updated:

A Baytown man accused of killing a Crosby woman is spending his first night in the Jefferson County jail.

Thirty-year-old Royce Davis II is charged with murder for the shooting death of Kimberly Grant.

Grant's body was found on April 19th, off Tram Road.  Jefferson County investigators believe she dated Davis.

After seven hours of questioning at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, deputies escorted Davis to jail.

He had nothing to say to reporters, and he covered his head and face with a jacket.

Deputies brought him back to Jefferson County Tuesday.

He had been in the Jefferson County Jail on charges of credit card fraud, accused of using the credit cards of Grant's late husband.

Davis' bond is set at $500,000.
