Hospital administrator explains why Renaissance has closed temporarily

Posted: Updated:
GROVES -

This weekend 12News was first to report that Renaissance Hospital in Groves had shut its doors temporarily.

Tuesday, we learned why.

Groves City Manager D. Sosa tells us he spoke with the hospital's administrator, Jason Leday.  Leday told him Renaissance will be closed for 30 to 60 days.

He cites three reasons.

Number one, to reorganized; Number two, for construction inside the hospital; and number three, the hospital plans to change its focus to behavioral health and senior care.

Leday also told Sosa that employees were paid before they were furloughed.
