Vidor mayoral candidate arrested for public intoxication

Posted: Updated:

A mayoral candidate in Vidor is out of jail on bond after being arrested Sunday morning, on charges of public intoxication.

Trey Haney, a Vidor city councilman, was found asleep in the driver's seat of a parked vehicle around 4:45 a.m.  The vehicle was parked along the Interstate 10 service road near the Adam's Bayou turnaround.

Police say Haney was booked into the Orange County Correctional Facility.  He was released Sunday afternoon after posting a $500 bond.
