Community clinic holds grand opening in Beaumont

Posted: Updated:

Beaumont has a new community clinic for those looking for low-cost health care.

Legacy Community Health Services held its grand opening Saturday. The center is located on Highland Avenue directly across from South Park Middle School. The building is the former home of the Ubi Caritas free clinic, which is now partnering with Legacy.

Hundreds of people came to the grand opening to enjoy free food, music, and games. Free health screenings were also provided for anyone needing one.

"We offer a full spectrum of care and everything that we do is done on a sliding scale. So if you don't have health insurance, we never turn anybody away, and you can come here and we will see you and we will help you get lower cost medications," said Legacy Executive Director Katy Caldwell.

The new clinic has 7 doctors, and offers services ranging from adult primary care, to pediatrics, to psychiatric care.
