Port Arthur refinery searched after threat, nothing found

A spokesperson for the Valero Refinery in Port Arthur has confirmed to 12News that precautionary measures have been put in place following a threat against the refinery.  Jefferson County Spokesperson Rod Carroll tells 12News that a bomb threat was made by phone.

Valero Spokesperson Bill Day said company officials will not comment on the nature of the threat,  but did say there has been no disruption to service or plant operations.  Day said there have been no evacuations, no restrictions, or lock downs at the Valero refinery.

Deputy Carroll said bomb K9's were sent to the plant and they did not find anything.
