Motorcyclist dies after accident in Vidor

A motorcycle rider has died from injuries he received in an accident in Vidor Tuesday morning.  The accident happened in the 7000 block of State Highway 12 near Creekwood Street in Vidor.

A Vidor Police Department spokesperson identified the victim as David Tally, 36, of Mauriceville.

An officer on the scene said the driver of a dark-blue Chevy Tahoe pulled out in front of Tally's motorcycle around 7:39 a.m.   A Southeast Texas Air Rescue helicopter was called to take Tally to the hospital, but medics made the decision to take him to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth by ambulance.

Vidor Police worked the accident with the assistance of the Department of Public Safety and the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The accident remains under investigation.
