Murder victim identified as Crosby, Texas woman

A spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office told 12News that a woman whose body was found in Jefferson County Friday has been identified as a missing Crosby, Texas woman.

Kimberly Grant, 50, of Crosby, was reported missing Sunday. 

Investigators say Grant died of a single gunshot wound.  Her body was found Friday near Tram Road just north of Beaumont.

The spokesperson said investigators believe Grant was shot and killed somewhere in Jefferson County before her body was brought to the location off of Tram Road.

Investigators are looking for the Grant's car.  It is a gold Cadillac crossover with license plate BN2-T228.

Anyone with information about why Grant may have been in Jefferson County is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 409-835-8734.  People with information may also call Beaumont Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS (8477.)
