One person is dead following an industrial accident Monday morning.
The landowner where the accident happened says the man was working on Transcanada's Keystone Pipeline. 12News is still awaiting confirmation from Transcanada on the matter.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Rod Carroll told 12News the accident happened around 10 a.m. in the 1000 block of Aggie Drive near China. When deputies got to the scene they found an individual that had been crushed between a piece of equipment and piping.
Co-workers tried to do CPR on the injured worker.
Pct. 1 Place 1 Justice of the Peace Judge Ken Dollinger arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The investigation is on-going.
Authorities have asked that the name of the deceased not be released pending notification of next of kin.
