A house in Mauriceville is a total loss and 11 people are displaced following a fire Monday morning.
The blaze was reported shortly after 11 a.m. at a home on Highway 12 just east of FM 1136.
Highway 12 was shut down for over an hour while firefighters worked the blaze.
Firefighters had to use tanker trucks from multiple agencies to get water to the fire because of its location.
Homeowner James Cornell told 12News that he has lived at the house for around 10 years. He said he plans to rebuild.
"I'm very thankful that nobody got seriously injured or killed in this. Even the animals got out alive, so, Praise our Lord for this," said Cornell.
Cornell said there were 11 family members living in the 8-bedroom house, including kids ranging in ages from 12 to 16-years-old, a grandfather, grandmother, a son-in-law and daughter.
Cornell said the only injuries that happened because of the fire was an ankle injury his wife got fleeing the fire.
"My wife suffered a possible broken ankle. She was taken to Orange Baptist Hospital to get checked out," said Cornell.
