Posted:

A spokesperson for the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston Thursday morning gave 12News an update on workers who were injured in a fire at the Exxon-Mobil facility in Beaumont on Wednesday.

According to the spokesperson, as of 11 a.m. Thursday, four workers are listed in critical condition.  Critical condition means vital signs are unstable.  Two workers are listed in serious condition.  One worker is listed in fair condition.

The workers are from a group of 12 who were injured in a fire at a processing unit.

Exxon has begun an investigation into the fire to determine its cause of the fire.  A company spokesperson is expected to released a statement sometime Thursday.
