A Port Arthur Policeman on the scene of a Tuesday morning shooting told 12News as many as 50 shots were fired in a retaliation shooting that happened at the Prince Hall Village Apartments.
Just after 1 a.m. officers were called to the apartments located in the 900 block of West 14th Street. When officers arrived they found one man with a gunshot wound to his leg. The man told officers that several men began firing shots from the roadway into the apartment complex.
The man with the gunshot wound was taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. A news release issued by the Port Arthur Police Department says it is not believed his injury is life threatening.
A police spokesperson said it is believed the shooting is related to the shootings which took place over the weekend.
Investigators ask that anyone with information about the shooting, or the shootings which took place over the weekend, to call the Port Arthur Police Department at 409-983-8600.
