Bodies discovered Sunday may be missing mother and son

Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford Monday confirmed to 12News that deputies are looking into the possibility that two bodies found Sunday morning could be the remains of a missing mother and son.

September 2011 the Tyler County Sheriff's Office began retracing the last known steps of 79-year-old Lettie Fisher and her son, 31-year-old John Fisher, Jr. Their car was found near Wolf Creek in Tyler County.

The two went to Magnolia Ridge Park located in the BA Steinhagen Lake area on a Monday. Fisher's husband reported her missing the following Thursday after the pair failed to contact him.

John Fisher, Sr. Spoke with 12News shortly after the disappearance.  he said he last saw his wife of 40 years, Lettie, and his son, John, Sept. 19 before going to work.

"Who would want to hurt and old woman, she's older than I am, and a handicapped man?" Fisher asked.
