(KCEN) -- Hillcrest Medical Center has unveiled their new outpatient surgery center.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to show off the new state-of-the-art facility.
The new center offers four operating rooms and more than 13,000 square feet of surgical space.
It will handle everything from general surgery to urology and orthopedic, with the majority of the procedures not requiring an overnight stay.
Hillcrest CEO Glenn Robinson said, "This extremely well-designed surgery center is truly a culmination of a collective input of our physicians, our technicians and our associates, and I really appreciate their focus on really one thing and that's the patient."
Today more than 70 percent of surgeries in the U.S. are preformed in outpatient facilities, just like this one.
