Posted:

A first responder working an accident in the 3200 block of Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur told 12News seven people including an infant were taken to a local hospital.

The accident happened just after 11 a.m. Officials shut down Gulfway Drive in both directions until the accident was cleared.

A Port Arthur policeman on the scene told a 12News photographer the accident involved three vehicles. He said the accident involved a Ford Taurus, Dodge Caravan and a black Saturn. The impact caused the driver of the Taurus to lose control and the car collided with the building of Kim's Marine Supply.

The officer told 12News five people from the Dodge Caravan were sent to different hospitals. An adult and a baby from the Ford Taurus were also sent to the hospital. He said none of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.
