Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball player Rebekah Ragsdale has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 10th.
Ragsdale, a junior right-hander from West Orange Stark High School went 2-0 in road starts against division opponent Concordia Texas last weekend. She did not allow a run in over 14 innings of work on the mound, striking out 12 batters, pitching into just five hits and walking only two batters.
Ragsdale preserved an early 1-0 Cru lead in the opening game of the series to give UMHB the 1-0 victory and was victorious in UMHB's 3-2 win over the Tornados in a two-hit, nine-strikeout performance.
The Cru softball team is 8-6 overall this season and 3-1 in conference play. UMHB will return to action with a weekend series against Howard Payne beginning March 15th at 5 p.m. in Belton.
