A Jefferson County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Monday told 12News that a Louisiana man is in the Jefferson County jail after deputies found five large bundles of cocaine in his car.

Deputy Rod Carroll said around 4:30 a.m. Friday a patrol deputy pulled a driver over on Interstate 10 near the 845 mile marker as part of a routine traffic stop.  The deputy said the driver was acting nervous and refused consent to search the vehicle.  The deputy had a K-9 sniff around the car.  The dog gave a "positive alert for narcotics."

Deputies then searched the car and found five bundles of cocaine hidden in a compartment.

Deputy Carroll said the street value of the cocaine is around $115,000.

The driver, identified as Brian Anthony Lewis, 30, of Opelousas, Louisiana, is charged with first degree felony possession of a controlled substance.  His bond is set at $20,000.
