Worker remains in ICU following weekend industrial accident

Posted:
BEAUMONT -

A man Monday morning remains in the Intensive Care Unit of Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth following an industrial accident over the weekend.

A Beaumont Fire Department news release issued over the weekend said that the man had a leg amputated.  Family members Monday contacted 12News saying the man's leg was not amputated.  Captain Brad Pennison with Beaumont Fire-Rescue Monday confirmed that the man's leg was not amputated, but that both legs were severely injured.

The accident happened at about 10 a.m. Saturday at ICORP in the 4900 block of Fannett Road.  A large piece of metal fell on the legs of an employee.
