Three remain candidates to become Lamar University president

One of four people under consideration to become the next president of Lamar University has withdrawn his name.

John R. English, Ph.D. withdrew his name for consideration Thursday.

The search for Lamar University's 15th president has three remaining finalists for the position.  They are  Kenneth R. Evans, Ph.D., Dean, College of Business, University of Oklahoma;  Gregg Lassen, J.D., Ph.D., Vice President for Finance and Operations, Lamar University; and Carl Stockton, Ph.D., Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, University of Houston Clear Lake.

The three remaining finalists are scheduled to visit Lamar University March 7 and 8 to participate in several forums with students, faculty and staff.
