Beaumont police and firefighters were called to the 5100 block of Gober Road in north Beaumont after a 911 caller told dispatchers a man poured gasoline inside the house and is threatening to set it on fire.

The call came in around 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Officers and firefighters staged in front of the house before entering.  Once contact was made the man surrendered to police.

Officers determined that the man did not actually pour gas inside the home, but was threatening to do so in an effort to scare his wife.

Police arrested the man on an outstanding warrant.  An officer said the man has a history of domestic violence.
