Vidor QB/LB Montana Quirante has been named the Willie Ray Smith award winner as the best offensive and the best defensive player of the year in SETX.
In the 21st annual banquet at the Elegante Hotel in Beaumont sponsored by the Beaumont Founder's Lions Club Quirante swept both awards.
Quirante led the Pirates to the playoffs for the second year in a row scoring 33 TD's while anchoring the defense as a two-player and becomes the first Vidor player to win a Smith Award.
