BISD spokeswoman Jessie Haynes confirms that Ozen head football coach Jeff Nelson has been reassigned within the district.
In January the UIL handed down a two-game suspension of Nelson following illegal practices held by the Panthers and also added three years to their probation the program received after a post-playoff game fight with LaMarque.
Nelson was hired by Ozen in 2009 after serving as an assistant for West Brook. This leaves both Class 4A schools in Beaumont without head coaches. Central has yet to fill their opening.
