
(KCEN) -- It's a tragedy that stunned Central Texas and the rest of the nation.
So many were affected by the shooting massacre on Fort Hood.
Now a filmmaker is trying to make a movie about that horrific day, through the eyes of a victim.
Civilian police Sgt. Kim Munley nearly lost her life in a shoot out with Nidal Hasan.
She is one of the key people involved in a new film titled "Fort Hood The Untold Truth" and was part of the group first on scene on November 5, 2009.
Munley is said to have fired 10 shots at Hasan hitting him once, before her weapon jammed.
Munley was shot 3 times and almost died.
We spoke with the director and producer of the film about why they decided to take on this project.
They said they are making this film because they don't this tragedy to every be forgotten.
