Beaumont police look for man who shot woman in the face

A 26-year-old woman is recovering from a gunshot to the face as Beaumont police look for the man who shot her.

Officers were called to a shooting at the Northridge Manor Apartments on Maida Street in north Beaumont around 6:50 p.m. Thursday.  The victim told police she was walking home from the store when a man approached and shot her in the face.

The victim was taken to the trauma center at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

The shooter is described as a light-skinned black man with a slim build. He was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans at the time of the shooting.

As of 8 a.m. officers have not released a motive for the shooting.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Beaumont Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS.
