
UDPATE: The man who was killed in an accident on New Road in Waco today has been identified as 20-year-old Robert Charles Taplin III of Waco.
Officers responded to the scene and found a Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by an 18-year-old female was pulling out of the driveway of the Gift Horse store onto New Road.
That's when Taplin's 2006 Suzuki motorcycle crashed into the side of the truck. Taplin had been driving north on New Road when he hit the truck.
Witnesses said the speed of the motorcycle could have been a factor in the accident.
The accident is still being investigated.

(KCEN) -- A motorcycle accident claimed the life of a local man this afternoon.
The crash occurred just before 3 p.m. in the 700 block of New Road near Watt in Waco. It appears it involved a pickup truck and a motorcycle.
When police arrived, they found the male motorcycle driver on the ground several feet away from the bike. The driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Justice of the Peace Peterson pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
Police were urging drivers to avoid the area while they responded to the accident.
There is no word on the man's identity or the cause of the crash at this time. We will release more information as it becomes available.
