Big changes may be in store for a Beaumont sexually oriented business.
Rick's Cabaret International Incorporated bought Jaguars Club along with 10 other Jaguars across the country in September. The club in Beaumont is currently closed.
A sign outside the building says operators are remodeling but the utilities have been shut off since January 15 according to a notice from the city posted on the doors for building code violations.
Rick's advertises itself as an upscale company serving businessmen and professionals and even claims to have the best club in the biggest U.S. city, New York.
While some businesses may bring visitors from other communities into Beaumont, an administrator at the Ben J. Rogers Regional Visitors Center doubts that the "elite" Rick's Cabaret will do the same.
Notices on the doors say the building has electrical system hazards and never completed an inspection process that would allow the business to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy.
No one was at the business when we tried to speak with managers about the code violations. Rick's Cabaret did not respond to calls or emails for comment from 12News by Tuesday night.
