Beaumont's Edison Plaza sporting a new look

Posted:

Edison Plaza is downtown Beaumont has a new look. Albanese Cormier Holdings purchased the building in 2012 and in one year has completely remodeled the building inside and out.

In one year, Edison Plaza has gone from 60 percent occupancy to 93 percent occupancy.

There is a front entrance where the Edison Fitness room greets you to the left. To the right, there is a credit union, LePeep Cafe and a cafe that sells Starbucks brand coffee.

Beaumont resident, Robin Snoek, heard LePeep recently opened and on Tuesday she decided to grab a bite to eat.

"A lady that I work with was telling me about this place. So, we just had to come over and give it a try," says Snoek.

12News took a tour of the national chain restaurant, along with the Edison Cafe, and the Edison Fitness Center. The fitness center is fully equipped with internet access, cable TV, locker and showers.

There is also an ATM, Red Box Movie Rental and dry cleaning drop-off.  There's also a view from every corner.

"This is what sold us, right here, the view," says Ronnie Jones with Architectural Alliance Inc.

Jones says his company recently moved to the building and feels the new building features will bring downtown back to life.

Region 5 ESC, which serves 39 school districts in the area, also moved its offices to Edison Plaza.

"We just think it's the most professional place that we could be and we really think it's good for our schools as a place to come in and service them," says Danny Lovett with Region 5.

The 17-story building has 15 new tenants in the last year.

"It's a completely different look. I think you'll see the architects, contractors, and visionaries behind this did a fantastic job. We couldn't be happier," says Mike Albanese of Albanese Cormier Holdings.
