Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- A man who was involved in a single vehicle accident in Waco on Friday was pronounced dead on Saturday.

Fifty-six-year-old Robert Darnell Garrett was riding his motorcycle in the 3200 block of North 18th Street on February 1 around 10:50 p.m. when he crashed.

Officers said Garrett was trying to navigate his 2000 Yahama bike around a curve on the southbound side of the road when the accident took place. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and was transported to Hillcrest Hospital.

Garrett passed away from his injuries on Saturday.

Investigators listed failure to control speed as a factor in the crash.
