KOUNTZE -

A man and woman were able to escape a house fire without injury Saturday night, but one of the couple's dogs had to be revived.

The fire happened around 8 p.m. at a house in the 1000 block of HWY 418 in Kountze.

The house received major damage from the fire.

A Kountze firefighter rescued a dog form the house.  The animal was revived by an Acadian Ambulance employee.  The dog was then taken to an animal emergency room.

Another family dog made it out of the house on its own.

12News was informed late Sunday afternoon that the dog that was revived has died from its injuries.
