Tips lead Task Force to K-2

Posted: Updated:

The Jefferson County Narcotics Division searched and found drugs at two Beaumont businesses over the past two days.

At J&A Accessories in the 1800 block of College street members of the Task Force found several bags of K-2 after receiving a citizen tip. Deputies say they found a type of K-2 they've never seen before labeled as super strong incense.

Deputies say the owner of the business was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

Citizens tipped deputies to the business. Still the discovery alarms some citizens.

I'm a nurse. It's terrible, you could lose your life behind that," Ethel Boudreaux said.

On Monday citizen complaints led the Task Force to M&M Express convenience store in the 1300 block of Washington.

Hundreds of bags of K-2 Spice were found there hidden behind the counter, inside a garbage bag and a backpack.

Deputies also found $13,000 in cash.

29-year-old clerk Natividad Antonia Savala and 65-year-old store owner Karim Ali Khoja were arrested for possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2A which is a state jail felony.

They have both bonded out of jail.
