2012 changed the lives of two local women. They both decided to lose weight and they both stuck with their plan. As we enter 2013, they are both looking better and feeling better.
Heather Kugler once weighed over 200 pounds. Since February of 2012, she's lost nearly 35 pounds.
"Words can not describe how much better I feel now", Kugler says.
With two children and a family history of heart disease and cancer, she decided 2012 was a year to make a change for better health.
"My resolution was easy; just keep it simple, no excuses, push forward and finish what I started." she said.
She joined Curves and before long, found herself being motivated by others and also motivating others.
"I couldn't do it without these guys. They couldn't do it without me. There's support, motivation, and accountability. It's phenomenal," she said.
Pam Dugas is another woman who lost weight in 2012. She is diabetic and was recently diagnosed with heart problems.
With two young grand-children by her side, she decided 2012 was her year to shed a few pounds.
She kept up with her weight, exercised and walked her dog.
In 12 months, she lost 60 pounds. She dropped from a size 20 to a size 8 and says her resolution for 2013 is to keep losing weight.
"I feel a lot more healthier. I have more energy. I just don't lay around," says Dugas.
If you plan on losing weight in 2013, Pam and Heather both say don't give up and focus on a healthier you in 2013.
