
BEAUMONT -- Police say two men armed with what is believed to be a box cutter forced a woman to empty her bank account at an ATM Sunday morning.
The robbery happened just before 6 a.m. Officers were called to the 4200 block of Fonville Avenue. A woman told police that a man forced her into her van and made her to drive to another location where another man was waiting. The two robbers then forced her to make several transactions at her bank's ATM and withdraw all her money. During the incident, the robbers made threats and cut her with what is believed to be a box cutter.
After all the money was out of her account, the robbers got out of the van and ran away.
A news release issued by the Beaumont Police Department gives the following description of the robbers:
#1 b/m, dark complexion, about 6'00", red hoodie, dark pants, black athletic shoes
#2 b/m, dark complexion, about 5'10" to 6'00", black hoodie, dark pants, black athletic shoes, had facial hair on his chin and a scar on the left side of his face from his eye to his cheek area
Both wore black knit gloves.
The woman's cuts are described as minor.
