Body found near Pleasure Island identified as Vidor woman

A spokesperson for the Port Arthur Police Department has identified a woman whose body was found Friday morning in the water near Pleasure Island.  Port Arthur Police Deputy Chief Raymond Clark tells 12 News the victim is identified as Amber Nicole Guillory, 26, of Vidor.

A fisherman saw Guillory's body in the water by North Levy Road at about 11:30 a.m. Friday.  Her body was recovered a short while later.

Investigators say her body had been in the water an estimated 24-hours before it was discovered, but this is only an estimate.  The actual time could be different pending investigation.

The cause of death has not been determined.   An autopsy is set for 8 a.m. Saturday.
