Shoppers, retailers prepare for Black Friday

Posted: Updated:

In 3D, Ruben Alaniz samples Marvel's "The Avengers" on a big screen TV. Alaniz and friends went to Best Buy Wednesday to get ready for Black Friday.

"We came to check out the TV's to see what we can get on Black Friday. TV's, Xbox's, basic stuff like that," Alaniz said.

Other shoppers did the same.

Early Wednesday two friends pitched a tent outside Best buy's doors. By 6:30 p.m. they were still the only ones in line.

At target there was no line Wednesday by 4 p.m. The eager shoppers were inside checking out the deals.

Betty Ann White will be hitting Target Thanksgiving night only after she eats dinner.

"Sometime tomorrow after I eat that pecan pie. Got to eat that pecan pie, then I'll come out here," White said.

From big screen TV's  to the hottest cell phones on the market, retailers are expecting a rush for it all.

But retailers ask customers to remember this when they line up and shop on Black Friday.

Show respect, humility, and integrity as long as you're respectable we will be respectable and try to get you out as soon as possible," Arthur Alexander, a manager at Best Buy said.

Depending on how long the line gets by Thursday night, Alaniz already knows what time he's going shopping.

"Come in Thursday, probably around 10 and get in line," Alaniz said.
