The former day care owner last week was found guilty of murder in connection with a 2011 fire at her home day care that killed four children.
The jury deliberated all day yesterday and for only a couple hours this morning before returning the sentence.
Tata was also fined $10,000.
Tata didn't show any emotion as the sentence was read. She declined to say anything further when the judge asked her.
There were tears shed by the victims' families as well as Tata's mother in the courtroom.
