Bond set in LU student shooting

Two people are in custody following a shooting death Wednesday night.

The shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 326 near Glaze Road.  When deputies arrived they found one man was dead from a gunshot wound.

Deputies have identified the man who was shot as Brian Wayne Drake, 18, a Lamar University freshman.  Investigators say Drake was in a car with two other people when the suspects drove up behind them.  One of the suspects fired at Drake as he was driving.

Arrested are Joshua Glaze, 26, and Curtis Glaze 22.  Deputies say the men are cousins.  Bond for each is set at $850,000.

Investigators are still working out the events that lead up to the shooting.

A Sheriff's Office spokesperson tells 12 News the Glaze cousins each have criminal past which includes assault and theft.
