Posted: Updated:

The Beaumont Police Department, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service, have arrested a murder suspect wanted in Louisiana.

The murder suspect is identified as Marlon Jermaine Mott, 29.

Crowley, LA police say Mott shot and killed a man in Crowley last night.

Officers say they received an anonymous tip that Mott was at a house in Beaumont.

Crowley police obtained a second degree murder warrant for Mott's arrest.

He was located at a house located at 4645 Ironton in Beaumont.  Police say he was in a house with a 77-year-old relative.

SWAT and hostage negotiators went to the house.  The negotiators persuaded Mott to come out. The relative confirmed Mott's identification.

Mott will remain at the Jefferson County jail pending extradition back to Crowley, Louisiana to face the 2nd degree murder charges.
