Group brings gifts to Kountze ISD

Posted: Updated:

Three women representing a group called Concerned East Texans for Separation of Church and State brought a gift basket to Kountze ISD as a token of the group's appreciation towards the district.

The group was formed in response to the high school cheerleaders' use of Christian signs at football games.

The basket included coffee, tea, chocolates, a chili's gift card and a thank you card.

The group says it knows the district has received negative feedback due to its decision to ban the banners, but it wants KISD to know that there are people in the community that support the districts decision.
