Youth Football League President distributes cross stickers in support of Kountze cheerleaders

Posted: Updated:

The president of the Kountze Youth Football League is showing his support for Kountze cheerleaders with thousands of helmet stickers.

James Graham ordered 1,500 little red cross stickers that players can stick to their helmets.  He ordered the stickers in response to the Kountze school district banning run-through banners with Bible verses written on them.

The ban was temporarily lifted Thursday by a temporary restraining order.

Graham and a couple other board members Paid for the stickers out of their own pockets.

He spent the better part of Friday afternoon cutting the stickers into strips and stuffing them into individual envelopes for each of the 49 area teams in the Youth Football League.

Grahm hopes the teams put the stickers on their helmets as a sign of support for the Kountze cheerleaders.
