Cash offered to help find 'dangerous fugitive'

Posted: Updated:

Authorities are asking for the public's help finding a man with an extensive criminal background including violent crimes such as armed robbery.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Warrant Division is trying to find Michael Joe Miller, 37, who has lived in Jefferson, Harris and Galveston Counties.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Rod Carroll tells 12News HD investigators believe Miller might be hiding in Mid or South Jefferson County.

Miller, shown in the photo on this page, is around 5'9" tall and weighs around 200 pounds.  He has a scar on his left knee and head.

Some of the criminal charges against Miller include robbery with bodily injury, theft and failure to appear.

Deputy Carroll said no one should try to make a citizen's arrest.

"No attempt should be made to apprehend this dangerous wanted fugitive," said Carroll.

Anyone with information about where authorities can find Miller is asked to contact Beaumont Crime Stoppers at (409) 833-TIPS (8477).  A reward of up to $1,000.00 is being offered for
information leading to the arrest of Michael Joe Miller.
