Orange County high speed chase

A high-speed chase in Orange County Friday ended on Mary Beth Street in Vidor.  This is off of Farm to Market Road 1132 (Evangeline Drive.)

The chase began shortly before 2 p.m. near Highway 105 and 1131 in Orange County.

Sgt. Chad Hogan with the Orange County Sheriff's Office tells 12News HD deputies tried to stop a car on a traffic violation, but the driver refused to pull over.  Department of Public Safety troopers joined in the chase.

The deputies and a trooper chased the car into the city of Vidor. where Vidor officers joined in on the chase.

Sgt. Hogan said during the pursuit, deputies could see the driver throwing something, believed to be narcotics, out of the window.

The chase ended on Mary Beth Street in Vidor and the driver, identified only as a man, 21, was taken into custody.

Sgt. Hogan on Friday said the man will be questioned at the Sheriff's Office and deputies will decide what charges will be filed.
