Ellie Cano - 12 News KBMT and K-JAC. News, Weather and Sports for SE Texas

Ellie Cano was born in New York City and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University where she studied broadcast journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Through out her college career Ellie interned with both television and radio stations in Phoenix including: KNXV ABC 15, KPHO CBS 5 and Power 98.3 FM. She was also reported for the school's nightly newscast called Cronkite NewsWatch, which reached over one million Arizonans each week. Starting with her freshman year at ASU Ellie began a lifelong involvement with her sorority, Omega Phi Chi. A unique, multicultural organization that promotes diversity and community service.

After graduating in May of 2011 she moved to sunny southern California where she interned at the CBS affiliate in Los Angeles. She accepted the job with KBMT 12 in February 2011 and moved to Beaumont where she is excited to be apart of the 12-news family.

For fun Ellie enjoys hip hop dancing, watching movies listening to music and spending time with her friends and family. Since moving to Beaumont she has enjoyed getting to know the Golden Triangle and is looking forward to exploring Southeast Texas.
