Orange house fire under investigation

A fire at a vacant house in Orange is under investigation.

Fire Chief Jerry Ziller tells 12News HD the City of Orange Fire Department was called to the blaze around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

The house is located at 1013 Norwood.

Officers with the Orange Police Department called in the fire after they saw smoke and flames coming from the attached garage area. An officer told the fire department it appeared the house was vacant.

Fire crews arrived and quickly put out the fire.  It was contained to the garage area.

The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause which is still under investigation. 

Fire crews remained on the scene until after 3 a.m. to make sure all fire was extinguished and to assist the fire marshal with the investigation. 

No injuries have been reported.
