The Orange Police Department is investigating an early-morning home invasion.

Officers say they received the call just before 4 a.m. Monday at the Sabine Park Apartments.  While on the way to the apartment building, officers were told by dispatchers that two people had fled from the scene.

As officers were driving to the apartments they saw two people hiding behind a home in the 500 block of Cherry. The two fled when they saw the police.  One of the men was caught a short while later as he hiding under a house in the 900 block of 4th Street.  The second one remains at large.

The man who was caught and arrested is identified as James Edward Collins, 17, of Orange.  He was arrested for aggravated robbery and numerous misdemeanor charges.  Collins was taken to the Orange County Jail.

Police say property stolen in the robbery was recovered along with the two handguns which were used by the robbers.

Police say both of the guns recovered had recently been reported as stolen.

A police report filed by officers says two of the victims were sitting in the living room watching TV when the two robbers, armed with handguns, burst through the front door and ordered everyone to get on the floor.

The report says the robbers took cash and hit one of the victims in the head with a handgun.  They then began to rummage through the house looking for items to take.  They grabbed a PS3 with games,  packs of cigarettes and other items before running away.

The victim who was hit in the head with the gun is undergoing treatment at Memorial Hermann Hospital-Orange for his injury which is believed to be non-life threatening.

The investigation is ongoing by the Detective Division of the Orange Police Department.
