Trail Ride and Zydeco Festival boosts economy

Posted: Updated:

This year's 8th annual Bill Pickett Trail Riders Trail Ride and Zydeco festival had a change of venue and the event continued to break records across the board from attendance to the amount of money it brought in for the local economy.

Acynthia Villery, a festival organizer, says she expects final attendance numbers to be roughly 6,500 and each person paid a range from $5-$20 depending on age and how long they attended the festival. Admission alone brought in about $130,000.

The three day fun filled event had something for every one from music, to food, to kids activities, and yes, the trail ride with over 200 riders and six carriages.
